Summary:
Parrish, Atlantis, ocean and forest... wings and bright colors and a journey.

Alatus means winged. Relucescere means to become bright again, like a new dawn.
A metamorphosis? A struggle and an improving.

Whereas my thought for the first was that the expression would portray some of the uncomfortableness one might have at the start of a metamorphosis, and my hope for the second was to portray a feeling of acceptance and joy, this third piece takes some of those latter feelings and combines them with Parrish's physical location at a point towards the start of his journey. I included the woods not because I felt anything specific about Parrish being a botonist, but because I so enjoyed the things that Mandy thought of.
So a big thank you to Mandy for making this creative process so fulfilling, the mods for being so quick to answer every question I had... thanks to stock artists... and to readers of my ramblings and to commenters. <3

This whole thing makes me extremely happy, such a shame mandy was unable to finish, here's hoping she may be able to do so in the future.
bravo for using such a minor, yet beloved, character

And, did I mention the colors?! Wow.

That's definitely true - Parrish really is a very beloved character, and I'm thankful to those who have shown me how awesome he and his relationships with others can be. :D I love reading or looking at other people's stuff about main characters but I also adore things like a main character / original character relationship, or crossovers, or the minor characters and how they interact with and within a world that we've seen through eyes of the main characters - I've seen so much unique expression with stuff like that.
As far as why I chose him for my art - I'm not sure rambles about my picture selection and art processes would be interesting, but I think it boils down to: I'm glad to have found this particular picture of Jonathon Young!
I hadn't thought about character selection for so long because I'd been working on it *as* Parrish for so much longer than trying to decide who to use, so to have you mention it brings back a completely other set of memories, and awesome feelings because I hadn't expected someone to appreciate the fact that it was Parrish like you expressed it. So thank you again for your comment - it means a lot.
