Danny with wings is just the perfect mental picture, it really, really is. And he would try to make it funny when it isn't, because that's his thing, right, deflecting with humor of a sort when things get too serious. It's how he copes, by trying to put other people at ease, because then he's got some sort of modicum of control over the situation, y'know?
