John took a deep breath, relishing the feel of the air entering his lungs. It was crisp and untainted by car exhaust or cigarette smoke. There was smoke from the bonfire, though, mixed with the earthy tang of Athosian incense. It was a combination not found on Earth and all the more precious for it.
He knew well that the Wraith hadn't been the Pegasus galaxy's only threat - and since that thread had been eliminated, so many power-hungry individuals were now going to fill the void as best they could.
But for one moment John could breathe easily, knowing that an enemy that he and his people had been fighting for so long... were going to be trouble no more.

John watched the circle of dancers with a smile for that one wonderful moment before grabbing Ronon's hand and joining in.
