Trying a new format for prompts - word association

outer rim: HHGG, Ford Prefect

Ford wasn't sure he had it in him to keep going.

He'd lost Arthur, Zaphod had finally gone officially insane, and the Guide... oh, damn those bastards at the Guide! They'd taken away from Ford what he'd built his life on, and maybe he could have managed it if he'd had his friends but he couldn't now. Definitely not now.

So.

He decided to make his way to a place on the edge of the galaxy. A place of vast emptiness punctuated by a few points of utter brilliance.

Ford would either find the light or get lost in the darkness, and it didn't really matter to him which it was going to be.

Angua sniffs. The smell of dwarf blood hangs heavy in her nostrils; the sight of the runes it forms is heavy in her mind.

The underground is restricting. Dirt all around and heavy troll-stomps not long ago and a war on the horizon.

Beside her Vimes twitches, impatient. It's almost imperceptible, but she knows his face too well not to see.

He keeps them safe. And he'd give it all up for his son, if he had to.
