Inception Art+Poem, Arthur/Eames, rated adult

Title: Beacon
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] sunspores at multifan_gift
Fandom/Pairing/Rating: Inception, Arthur/Eames, adult
Warning/Notes: highlight for spoilers: mild medically graphic images, and themes of character death
Summary: Art and poem about a love that's beacon-bright

Artist's Notes: The pieces came together from a mix of different prompts from [livejournal.com profile] sunspores, which were brilliant and fun to work with. I was inspired visually by noir themes and conceptually by A Softer World, including number 642, and the idea of "romanticizing of violence." Violence was in the prompt along with noir and the comic, but the mixing of violence and romance was a bit more serendipitous. I hope you like the direction I took and thank you for the wonderful prompts :)

I AM SO OVERWHELMED. I adore these so much, I cannot even properly articulate how grateful I am. The second poem is stunning, and fits so well. when they find me, when they pull the trigger, what will spill on the pavement will be my love. wow. AND THE ART. NO ONE HAS EVER MADE ME SOMETHING THIS GLORIOUS BEFORE. thank you, a million times over. ♥

Oh my gosh, thank you so much. I'm so glad you like, and "glorious" is such an amazing word and to have it applied to things I did is really special. There were multiple reasons why working on these pieces was special to me so to have a special comment at the end of that... reading it made me get up from the computer and walk around because I had this physical burst of joy in my chest that I couldn't contain sitting down. Thank you! :):)

Yay, LJ finally worked long enough for me to look at these! Gorgeous work...dark, but in a haunting way that really hints at a story. Love it!

Thank you bunches :) I love that it hints at a story for you because the process of it felt like a narrative. What didn't get put into the final product included a backstory (and certain ideas about the nature of their relationship and I don't know if there's a term for the oposite of a backstory) that just kind of flowed very organically from starting out with the ideas of the comic and the word-based approach there. So I really appreciate that feedback!
