Inception ficlet, Arthur/Eames, Teen
I wrote a ficlet. Prompt: Arthur and Cobb have to go undercover as husbands in order to gain access to a new mark. Eames has... interesting reactions to that.
Eames -- Eames who had flirted with Arthur since the day they first met, Eames who had made it clear that he didn't want to see Arthur outside of their work together (never saying that out loud but turning down each of Arthur's requests for a drink or dinner, turning them down like he wasn't affected at all, like Arthur meant nothing to him even though Arthur had already given away his heart) -- Eames had shown up on Arthur's doorstep, umbrellaless in the rain with drops rolling down his cheek and sparkling in his eyelashes. They didn't speak; Eames had simply stood there looking stunned as though he had no idea or too many of them how he had ended up in front of Arthur, and Arthur just stared, not knowing what to say to an Eames who looked as broken as he did now.
They stood for a single stretched-out moment, and then Eames surged forward to grab Arthur's shirt with one hand and his shoulder with the other, turned him back against the wall and gasped into his neck, shaking in a way that made Arthur think that the rainwater might have been hiding a tear or two. And before Arthur could ask any of a thousand questions Eames said "Arthur, take me to bed" and it was a plea, it was begging, and then "I know now I need you" and Arthur believed him.
