Excerpts from two WIPs
Mar. 30th, 2010 06:42 pmDeadlines for these two are coming up, and after a while of not being able to write anything for them I did, and I am excited and want to share :D (and there don't seem to be any rules regarding this so I think I am ok!)
I hope these bits seem interesting and good and stuff! But I dunno - I've never done this excerpt thing before so I'm not sure if they need the bigger context to make them alright, you know? So any feedback would be awesome.
Jonas Alphabet Soup:
His nightmares faded, diluted with the shower water, and after that it was easier to put the smile on his face - and he was even mostly good at convincing himself that he was, in fact, cheerful and optimistic.
A Ficathon Walks into a Bar:
And he gets goosebumps on his arms because he knows it's true, that being one of the very few aliens to ever walk around freely on Earth means that he's got one hell of a big secret, and he's never had anybody call him on it like this. She hasn't accused him of anything but from where he's sitting, looking at the certainty written all over her face, it feels just the same.
